We will once again have no shortage of top quality pipe bands in competition. As of this writing we have received entries from 16 bands from outside the Metro area. Coupled with those in the Metro Atlanta area, we have 21 that expected to stand in competition. And this is only mid-May.

Entertainment Stages set… almost
We have heard from some of you and made some changes accordingly. We trying to satisfy all parties by providing a bit if everything this year. Hope it works.
Our large stage will feature music with a more contemporary feel. This year we will feature the Celtic energy of Rathkeltair. They will share the stage with a local favorite Keltic Kudzu.
Our smaller stage has Alex Beaton headlining. Joining Alex on this stage will be a folk group from the Metro Atlanta area called Vintage Voices.
The Metro Atlanta area has a growing number of performers and groups focusing on music of a Celtic nature (or derivatives thereof). We are discussing the addition of a third stage this year that will allow more of our local talent to be show cased at the festival. We are about 60% certain that this will come about this year so keep checking. We will post something soon about this.

Friday evening Recital set.
We are happy to have Bob Worrall performing in recital Friday evening. If you have heard him before you know what is to come. If not, you should not miss his amazing talent. I can’t promise, but expect that some very amusing tales will be thrown in too. This will be a ticketed event held at the host hotel. Tickets will be on sale shortly and www.smhg.org
